Grußwort von Staatsminister Dr. Markus Söder für die IPC Welt- meisterschaft 2017 in Finsterau
|

Dear participants,
Welcome to the IPC Biathlon and Cross Country Skiing World Championships 2017. It is a great honour for the Free State of Bavaria to host this year‘s World Championships in Finsterau in the Bavarian Forest.
Being held for the 12th time this year, the IPC Nordic Skiing World Championships for people with disabilities can look back on a long tradition. It is an event where athletes with disabilities regularly demonstrate their outstanding performance. The spectators in the Bavarian Forest can look forward to exciting competitions and top performances.
However, these competitions are not only sports events. They also stand for the many people in our country and all over the world who believe in themselves and take charge of their lives despite their disabilities.
I would like to thank the host of these World Championships, the sports club SV Finsterau, which has gained a reputation for hosting great disability sports events. I would also like to thank all participants and spectators and in particular the many volunteers and organisers whose contribution is vital to the success of this important event.
May all participating athletes have exciting, fair and successful competitions!
